In the fall of 2011, the father and son team of Emilio Estevez and Martin Sheen went on a major tour around the globe to promote the movie that the son wrote and directed with his father in mind to star. Before the screening that I attended (which followed a Q&A session with both Estevez and Sheen), the film was definitely under my radar. I knew next to nothing about the film. THE WAY is a truly beautifully shot film and Estevez’s finest work as a director to date. You can read my review of the theatrical release here. Having experienced the Q&A after the film and saw how much the two loved and respected each other, it gave me an even deeper appreciation for the work.
THE WAY is now on VOD and arrives DVD & Blu-ray February 21st. I highly recommend you check it out.
